Changes in HbA1c levels (%) at different time points. At baseline, there was no significant difference in HbA1c levels, the primary outcome measure, between the intervention and the control groups (P > 0.05). Compared to the baseline levels, the HbA1c levels had changed significantly in the intervention group at three months (−1.56 ± 1.81, P < 0.05) and six months (−1.17 ± 2.11, P < 0.05), whereas no changes in HbA1c levels were observed in the control group over the same periods (P > 0.05). Bonferroni correction was applied during post hoc analysis to control for family-wise error (P < 0.0167)
