  2. Some percentages do not total 100 because of rounding
  3. §A PHN program was defined as a department requiring a class in which the class name included words that meant “public health nutrition” or “community nutrition” in the language of the respective country or region. In China, the class named “nutrition and food safety” or “food and nutrition” were also defined as PHN classes
  4. Eighteen colleges or universities were not included because information on whether or not PHN classes were compulsory was not available
